THE 2009 GOLDEN WAGON FILM FESTIVAL

We are happy to announce that the 7th Annual Fire Island Golden Wagon Film Festival will be held Saturday, August 8th and Sunday, August 9th.

The 2009 Festival will pack 3-days of film and events into two spectacular days of the most thought-provoking, inspiring, entertaining, and fun films and events we have yet to bring to the Ocean Beach community. In an effort to provide the community with film events and movies throughout the season, The Board of Directors has decided to purchase and donate a video projection system for the Community Arts Center and Theatre. This gift will broaden the spectrum of films available to theatergoers, including classic movies, foreign films, documentaries, and big blockbusters throughout the season. While we will not be able to bring you the outdoor film experience you have come to know and love this year, we hope to bring it back in 2010 and continue our tradition as the greatest outdoor film festival in the most unique place on earth!

The GWFF Board would like to thank everyone for their continued support and assistance in making last year's festival one of the most memorable in the program's history. Special thanks to Steve Guttenberg, last year's recipient of the Tony Randall Lifetime Achievement Award, for coming out and meeting with festival goers and adding even more excitement to a festival now known for being anything but ordinary.
